Greene County public health is hosting a Medicare Savings Program sign-up event Tuesday, April 17, from 9:30 to 11:30 am the Greene County Medical Center education classroom.
Kim Doughty, Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) coordinator for the Elderbridge Agency on Aging, will explain the available savings programs and help attendees complete the application process. He will also talk about Medicare preventative benefits and the new Medicare cards.
Any Iowa Medicare recipient may attend the event. Recipients who are eligible for Medicare Part A, Part B, or Part D, and have limited income and resources may be eligible to apply for a Medicare Savings Program.
Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are recommended by calling Doughty at 1-800-243-0678, extension 7007.
